Studio Alicia Minnaard is a playground for research and textiles. Driven by a passion for regeneration, sustainability, and social impact, Alicia embarks on projects that push boundaries and inspire change. With her studio, she creates one-off unique products made in limited editions and made-to-order products that are available throughout the year. Rooted in a deep belief in forging her own path and questioning existing systems, everything is crafted by hand with care for the earth and its inhabitants.

‘From Seed to Scarf’ is now online!

The scarf is grown and harvested at de Horsterhof in Duiven, Netherlands. Woven by Enschede Textielstad. Naturally scoured and mordanted with Oak galls. Silkscreened with Madder root dye in Rotterdam and made into a scarf in Amsterdam. Because of its natural processes, every scarf is unique and has different hues in the fabric and the print.

The scarf is priced at €150, covering material and printing costs and supporting everyone involved in bringing this project to life.

Linen Stewardship '21/'22
As a member of the Shared Stewardship community of The Linen Project in 2021 and 2022, I experienced the collective cultivation of flax and handcrafting of textiles from seed to finished product, guided by principles of commoning and shared decision-making, which fostered a new economic, social, and cultural paradigm rooted in respect for all affected by our actions.
FIXING FASHION
‘Fixing Fashion’ is a global open-source platform created by ‘One Army’ to teach and share free, easy-to-follow techniques for caring, repairing, and upgrading clothing, empowering individuals to reduce textile waste, extend the life of their garments, and build a sustainable community of repairers and upgraders.
‘a common label’ was a research project for the Fixing Fashion platform.
